During a ceremony organized by the Party of God or Lebanese Resistance (Hezbollah) in the southern city of Nabatiyeh to honor the martyrs of Taybeh, the MP stressed the importance of January 26 as the deadline for Israel’s complete withdrawal from the national territory.
In his opinion, Israel’s failure to comply with this obligation would undermine the implementation process of the agreement, weaken its established mechanisms and compromise the role of the international community in monitoring the cessation of hostilities.
In Fayyad’s view, any breach of the withdrawal deadline would lead Lebanon into a new phase, which would require “a recalibration of the strategies aimed at confronting the occupation through all available means and methods to regain our land.”
According to the Hezbollah representative, this confrontation is a shared responsibility involving the Lebanese government, Army, people, political parties and the Resistance.
The lawmaker noted that some might choose to distance themselves from the cause, ‘ apparently indifferent to the importance of the sacred lands of southern Lebanon’.
