In his opening remarks, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man expects the event will foster collaboration, particularly in science, technology, innovation, creativity, digital economy, and public-private partnership.
The Vietnamese Parliament organized the forum to strengthen cooperation within the Francophone community to build sustainable agriculture, ensure livelihoods for every household, and food security for every nation, he said.
Thanh Man also reviewed Vietnam’s achievements in 2024, when it reached a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 7.09 percent, the economic scale exceeded 476 billion dollars, and the trade exchange recorded 786 billion dollars.
Thanks to a solid investment in agriculture, Vietnam not only ensures food security but also supplies food and products to the world, the head of the Legislature stressed. President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophone (APF) Hilarion Etong, in turn, expressed that this initiative shows Vietnam’s strong commitment to advancing cooperation on significant issues related to sustainable development. jrr/iff/lam/mpm
