This was pointed out by the Director of Planning and International Cooperation of the Ministry, Yusuf Annan, during his meeting with a delegation of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
These schools are in all provinces and need to be restored or completely rebuilt, Annan stressed.
According to the official SANA news agency, during the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the reconstruction of damaged schools and the UNICEF work plan in the country was discussed.
Last week, the Minister of Education of the interim government, Nazir Al-Qadri, announced that the country has 3.5 million schoolchildren attending about 11,000 schools in all governorates.
