Fitur kicks off with expectations from Cuba

Madrid, Jan 22 (Prensa Latina) Bad weather, good face for tourism, which begins its journey today with Fitur in IFEMA-Madrid, where a legion of professionals from 156 countries promote their offers.

The intense rain these days and cold due to the incidence of a squall, marked the weather of the Spanish capital, but the turnout of participants in the largest showcase of the sector in Ibero-America exceeds the forecasts.

Brazil is the Guest Country of the 45th International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which will last until the weekend, when it will be open to the general public.

Cuba expects good results at the fair. In the days prior to the event, its Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García, held several meetings, one with Spanish investors and another with Cuban agencies and tour operators living abroad.

In an exchange held at the Cuban Embassy in Madrid, Niurka Pérez, Cuba’s Tourism Counselor for Spain and Portugal, thanked the support and determination of 21 Cuban travel agencies that managed to get 11,000 people to visit the island last year, not counting the most influential group of Onlinetours.
