“Trump ignores our origin, our José Martí and Fidel’s essence. That is why our position is and will always be that of defending Cuba,” they said in a statement, also signed by student organizations and youth movements in the Caribbean nation.
The UJC denounced that the return of Washington’s hostile policy towards the island affects families and especially young people who are building a life project in Cuba.
On the reinstatement of the Caribbean country to the list of States sponsors of terrorism, they affirmed that the designation is one more tool to try to destroy peace, sovereignty and well-being in Cuba.
“Our country does not promote terrorism, it is a victim,” the UJC said, while reiterating that no force, however powerful, will be able to turn young people away from the path of the Revolution.
“In the face of greater aggression, the greater will be our unity; in the face of more measures of economic asphyxiation and an intensified blockade, the greater our creativity, our commitment and our determination to jump over the difficulties and continue to defend the legitimate dreams of justice that our parents and grandparents bequeathed to us,” they declared.
