Screenings and live music will take place from January 27 to February 2, and there will be book presentations and special conferences linking Jazz and the seventh art, according to Cubacine on its digital platforms.
The 40th edition of the Jazz Plaza International Festival will open on January 26, presenting a selection of renowned national and international artists.
The organizers announced the festival venues in Havana, Santiago and Villa Clara, which will offer a program until February 2, including but not limited to jazz.
The festival will recognize more than one hundred personalities and entities that have contributed to jazz and Cuban culture with the Jazz Plaza 40 label.
The event will dedicate a space to the 80th birthday of the great pianist Frank Fernández; and Ricitos Valdés y los Tres Ositos en el bosque de Irakere will be the gift of the Cuban children’s theater company La Colmenita to this group that renewed the Latin American jazz scene.
