According to the program of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the reception will take place at the Camilo Cienfuegos Historical Museum, in the municipality of Yaguajay, where they will pay tribute to Commander Camilo Cienfuegos and his companions from the Northern Front.
In the Mausoleum of the Historical Complex dedicated to the Hero of Yaguajay, a meeting is also planned with combatants of the epic that culminated on December 31, 1958 with the liberation of the town, hours before the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959.
In the northern municipality, they will carry out voluntary work in the community of Mayajigua, in the agrotourism and ecological project La Picadora, which involves more than 30 families from the surrounding areas where its beauties are a delight for rural tourism. Lester Rodriguez, ICAP delegate in the province, reported that the tour continues on Saturday in the city of Sancti Spiritus, where the group made up of delegates from various countries in America will learn about development projects and visit the historic area of the town founded in 1514.
On Sunday the brigade members will remain in Trinidad, where they will learn about various community work and conservation programs in the heritage area and the Valley of the Sugar Mills, declared by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
At the end of this day they will return to the country’s capital. The ICAP delegate also anticipated the arrival in Sancti Spiritus of several solidarity brigades during the current year to continue strengthening the bonds of fraternity and cooperation that unite Cuba with the world.
