Madrid, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) Spain has reason to be exultant about the progress of its tourism industry, a dynamic that is currently being taken full advantage of by the province of Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha.

By Fausto Triana

Silvia Rodenas, a specialist from the Provincial Association of Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs of Albacete (APEHT), told Prensa Latina that, generally known as a crossroads area from the center to the south of Spain, things are now changing.

The figures of 94 million foreign visitors, with spending above 126 billion euros in the Iberian country, reflect the boost to the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which is being held at the IFEMA Madrid venue until Sunday.

“Albacete is at Fitur, one of the most important showcases in the world, because it represents an opportunity to make this beautiful province known. We are between Levante and Madrid, which is an additional element that distinguishes us, ready to also be a stopping place,” she explained to Prensa Latina.

We stand out for our economic drive, mobility, clean city, its capital, and during our day at Fitur we offered a music program from all its festivals, emblematic sites such as Lagunas de Ruidera and the excellence of our gastronomy, said Rodenas.

With Latin America and the Caribbean, the expert valued the identity that facilitates the use of the same language, the possibility of increasing exchanges and collaboration, as is already happening with Mexico, Cuba and other countries.

Precisely in the month of February, the Teatro Circo, one of the four that exist in the world and the longest-running, hosts an International Circus Festival, in which Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay participate with their best artists.

In relation to the values of Albacete and the competitiveness of other destinations, he pointed out that he prefers to see it as a regional whole, for which reason joint work allows the community and all its attractions, which are many, to be strengthened.

In addition to the aforementioned attractions, the capital of Albacete has a unique Museum of Cutlery and a highly impactful trade fair, along with a Bullring and an outstanding Water Tower.

Its production of wines, extra virgin olive oils and the famous Manchego cheeses are also strong points of the province, particularly at Finca La Jaraba. In addition, the Cueva de Montesinos, in Ossa de Montiel, which inspired Miguel de Cervantes to write two chapters of a dream in the imagination of Don Quixote.
