According to the source, in a statement issued on January 21, that organization, a world coalition made up of 120 member countries that advocates non-alignment with the main power blocs, described the imposed measure as arbitrary and unilateral.
It also claimed that such an action is politically motivated and contradicts international calls for the normalization of Washington’s relations with Cuba. In the document, the NAMl also called on the United States Government to lift the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, which has been repeatedly condemned at the United Nations General Assembly.
It insisted that the criminal blockade has caused “huge economic difficulties to Cuba, by restricting its ability to carry out financial and commercial transactions.”
On January 20, just after his inauguration, the new US president, Donald Trump, unfairly reinstated Cuba in the aforementioned list, which reverses the policy of the previous US administration.
That measure, which violates international law, was condemned immediately by various governments and organizations throughout the world, which oppose Washington’s harmful unilateral actions against Cuba.
