Fares told reporters that all Palestinian prisoners are men serving life sentences or long-term sentences in the neighboring country.
The official explained that following their release on Saturday, their travel documents are now being prepared.
“They expect to go to several countries and the details will be clarified later, after the preparations are completed,” he pointed out.
Fares thanked Egypt and Qatar for mediating the ceasefire deal, which started on January 19 and has provided a respite for more than two million Palestinians who live in the Gaza Strip.
We are making all the necessary logistical and security arrangements during their temporary stay in Cairo in preparation for their transfer to their next destinations, he stressed.
