“Five million 916,195 voters participated in the voting, that is, 85.69 percent of the registered voters. Therefore, the election for the Presidency of Belarus is considered valid,” Karpenko told the press, confirming that current Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko won the elections by obtaining 5,136,293 votes, for 86.82 percent of the total votes.
The official added that the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Sergei Syrankov, received 189,740 votes, or 3.21 percent; the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Oleg Gaidukevich, received 119,272 votes, or 2.02 percent; the independent businesswoman Anna Kanopatskaya received 109,760 votes, or 1.86 percent; and the head of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice, Alexander Kzhizhnyak, received 102,729 votes, or 1.74 percent of the total.
Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov said for his part that “Belarus has never experienced such a peaceful election as the 2025 presidential election.”
