“Tomorrow we will give the Security Report with great responsibility on the results of these four months that we have been at the head of the government,” said the president yesterday during her regular press conference.
Sheinbaum highlighted the levels of coordination between the different institutions of the executive related to this area, as well as the strengthening of attention to the structural causes of violence and the fight for zero impunity.
The administration implements a national security strategy based on four axes of action: attention to the causes, consolidation of the National Guard, strengthening of intelligence and investigation, and coordination with the federal entities.
As a result of this policy, the authorities recorded a 16.3 percent decrease in the incidence of intentional homicide between September and December 2024, the period in which the first three months of the current government are located.
During that period, officers arrested 7,720 persons for high-impact crimes, seized more than 66 tons of drugs, including 1,168 kilograms and 561,000 fentanyl pills, and confiscated more than 3,600 firearms.
