“Technically, it is possible,” Rodrigues replied when questioned on the TV program Cultura Roda Viva, and stressed that this would be feasible “as long as there is a meeting of people with authorship, materiality, and circumstances of participation in the crime. Possible, technically it is now.” However, he admitted that he could not “enter the field of speculation,” that an analysis of the material seized in Operation Countercoup is being done at this time and an additional report will still be sent.
“We are going to look for evidence to confirm, or not, what was said,” the police delegate continued, certifying that “as soon as we can reach a conclusive result, we will present it to the Judiciary.” He also acknowledged that the PF did not find enough elements to accuse former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (Bolsonaro’s son), although both were summoned by Cid, no additional elements were found.
The PF indicted 40 people for the plot, including former president Jair Bolsonaro and generals Walter Braga Netto and Augusto Heleno. At the end of last year, it sent the final report of the proceedings on the coup attempt to the Supreme Federal Court. The document was later delivered to the Attorney General’s Office, which will possibly issue its conclusions in February, and could file a complaint, request further investigations, or close the case.
