According to Montevideo Portal, there are 365 Uruguayans with deportation orders from the US authorities.
Data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited by the source, indicate that about 69 thousand Uruguayans reside in the United States.
President Trump’s administration began the first deportation flights of migrants a few days after taking office on January 20.
A report by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement indicates that in November 2024 more than 1.4 million people had deportation orders.
The countries with the highest number of people in this condition are Guatemala (253,413), Mexico (252,044) and El Salvador (203,822).
Press sources said here that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was notified of the next deportation of a national from the United States.
In 2024 there were 25 deportations of Uruguayans, while in 2023 there were 19.
