Local activists quoted by the Syrian Network for Human Rights denounced the massacre. The victims were executed in cold blood by extremists who stormed the village at night and forced the civilians out of their homes and then killed them with individual weapons equipped with silencers, before fleeing to an unknown destination.
According to local newspaper Al-Watan, General Security Forces surrounded the village in search of the hooded gunmen who committed the crime and arrested three of them.
According to human rights entities, the number of sectarian reprisal and liquidation actions since the beginning of 2025 in several Syrian governorates amounted to 105, which claimed the lives of 228 people, including five women and one child.
Most of these violations were perpetrated in Homs governorate with 97 fatalities, Hama with 63, while in the coastal governorates of Tartous and Latakia, another 25 killings were confirmed.
