“The British seem to remain supporters of the idea that Ukraine should fight to the last Ukrainian. The reality shows that the dynamics are not at all in favor of the Kiev regime. Many Western representatives and experts, including those from Western Europe, also acknowledge it”, the Kremlin spokesman told reporters.
Commenting on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s plans to urge European Union (EU) leaders to tighten sanctions on Moscow, Peskov ironically called it “a fairly consistent position of the British leaders.”
The head of the Russian presidential press service confirmed that this Government is aware that the United Kingdom is one of the countries imposing this confrontational line on its partners in European affairs.
Starmer indicated in his statement, published before he participated in the informal summit that the EU heads of State and Government held in Brussels this February 3, that the United Kingdom Government will cooperate with the EU countries to introduce new energy sanctions on Russia.
