The form of government in Syria will be consistent with the values on which the state was founded since its beginning and will be based on a republican system with an executive government and a legislative parliament, Al-Sharaa said in an exclusive interview in local television.
He added that there will also be cooperation between the three authorities to ensure justice achievements and public goods.
The president explained that there will be a transitional parliament in the first stage because the elected one is impossible in the present situation. He noted that holding elections in Syria is impossible.
He recalled that half of the population is outside the country and many of them are undocumented. There are many births and unregistered deaths in Syria, and there are also missing persons.
Additionally, some regions of the country are still out of State control, so elections need infrastructure, and this may take a long time, Al-Sharaa said.
