In early February, the ADF conducted several airstrikes on villages, farmers, and repatriated citizens, in which about 100 civilians were killed, the non-governmental organization Convention on the Respect of Human Rights (CRHR) informed.
According to that source, the latest aggression took place on Tuesday, February 4, when the rebel group shot dead 10 people, set fire to houses, and looted property in the area where military operations were already underway.
The CRHR added that the ADF has sown terror in the southern region of Irumu, in the area between Komanda and Luna, and the localities of Kangatiro, Butumai, and Lulueba, in central Idohu, and denounced the passivity of the Congolese and Ugandan armed forces that are conducting operations against the armed group.
The crimes committed by that faction, which is linked to the Islamic State, have increased since early this year, as several people were killed in the Lubero territory, North Kivu province, in the last few days.
