“When a country with 10 million inhabitants is under enormous pressure from outside, it cannot survive. We were the black sheep of the West,” said the politician, according to whom the Democrats hated Hungary for its opposing positions on the situation in Ukraine, as well as on migration and gender issues.
In recent times, the situation has changed, said Orban, adding that he hopes for the expansion of economic and political ties between the countries.
Orban also spoke of the weakness of Europe and its inability to resolve the situation in Ukraine on its own. “The EU constantly talks about being a global player, but it cannot control the situation in its own region,” said Orban.
Earlier, Viktor Orban said that Donald Trump had turned the world upside down in a matter of days, including ending his support for military action in Ukraine. In the prime minister’s view, the EU sees the “Trump tornado” approaching, but for now believes it can be avoided.
