In a speech on the first day of the congress of the Socialists of Euskadi (Basque Country) PSE-EE, Sanchez said that no real estate initiative “will cover up the crimes against humanity in Gaza in recent years and said that from Spain we will not allow it.”
Without expressly mentioning it, the head of the Executive clarified in the event held in San Sebastian, northern Spain, the proposal on Gaza of the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
No real estate operation is going to cover up the ignominy, the crimes against humanity or the shame that has been lived in Gaza during these years.
“We must not allow it and from Spain we will not allow it,” he concluded.
In this regard, Sanchez called for respect for international law, particularly humanitarian law, and considered that Palestinians should live in Palestine and Israelis in Israel, “in peace, harmony and security.”
Regarding Ukraine, and the eventual peace negotiations between Russia and the US, he pointed out that any future has to pass through “Ukraine’s leading role and leadership.”
He took the opportunity to warn of the danger of the ultra-right wing, “both Spanish and international,” and called to fight it with the implementation of progressive policies.
He demanded the conservative Popular Party (PP) to ‘break with the real Trojan horse of Europe, which is the ultra-right (especially with VOX)’.
Sanchez also commented on the threat of imposing tariffs by the US, pointing out that his government will be ‘on the side of farmers, companies, industry and Europe’.
