One of these works is the Fidel Ventura primary hospital, located in the municipality of Waslala, department of Matagalpa (Center), whose construction is 88% complete, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) informed.
With an investment of more than 629 million córdobas (more than 17 million 176 thousand US dollars), the center will provide better conditions to more than 76 thousand people. The hospital is expected to be ready next April.
Another project underway is the Nuevo Amanecer hospital in Bilwi, in the North Caribbean Coast region, whose investment exceeds 72 million dollars. Once completed it will be able to attend more than 242 thousand inhabitants of that area.
Investments in the health sector here have been among the priorities of the Sandinista government, since its return to power 18 years ago, to restitute Nicaraguan’s right to medical care.
Thus, this Central American nation is positioned as the country with the largest and most modern hospital network in the region (75).
