Rosoboronexport is continuing its efforts to promote the Checkmate light tactical aircraft in Middle Eastern countries that are seeking industrial independence and are committed to technological partnership, the top executive said Friday in an interview with the Sputnik news agency.
Mikheev took part in the IDEX 2025 international defense fair held in the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi from February 17 to 21.
He detailed that the corporation is conducting consultations with nations in that part of the world on the possible joint development and integration of advanced avionics systems and the adaptation of weaponry from manufacturers in other countries.
Developed by Russia’s Sukhoi, the Chekmate with stealth technologies was first unveiled in July 2021 at the MAKS aerospace show in Russia.
More than 85% of Russian defense exports are channeled through the Rosoboronexport corporation.
