The diplomatic institution’s statement came during the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who arrived in Ankara on February 23. Lavrov held talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday.
The two sides “agreed to continue supporting active political dialogue between Russia and Türkiye, including on the Ukrainian crisis, and other issues of mutual interest in international relations,” the statement stressed.
Additionally, Russia and Türkiye paid special attention to the situation in Syria and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone.
According to the document, “both countries’ commitment to implementing previously reached high-level agreements in the entire spectrum of the progressive development of mutually beneficial multi-faceted bilateral cooperation was confirmed” during the meetings.
