During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the agreement signed in February 2024 between Ethiopia and the Cuban Sugar Business Groups (AZCUBA) that covers areas such as research and development, production and technical assistance, the Cuban Embassy in Addis Ababa informed.
They reviewed the progress in the implementation of joint projects, highlighting the importance of technology transfer and the exchange of knowledge to optimize sugar production.
They also explored new opportunities for collaboration in other areas related to the sector.
Suárez emphasized Cuba’s willingness to share its vast experience in the sugar industry, while Roba underscored Ethiopia’s potential in the field and the relevance of bilateral cooperation to achieve common goals.
Also present in the meeting were directors of technical and productive areas of the local sugar group, whose interventions contributed to enriching the dialogue and strengthening the links of collaboration between both nations.
On Cuba’s side, the third secretary of the Embassy, Natalys Dinza, was also present in the meeting, which reaffirmed the historic relations between Cuba and Ethiopia and underlined the mutual commitment to advance projects that promote sustainable development and the well-being of their peoples, the source said.
