The diplomatic institution’s release recalls that Lavrov traveled to Ankara on Sunday, February 23, and held separate talks with Fidan and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday.
As for the relations with Syria, Russia states that they are based on historical, social, economic, and security ties that were formed during the government of former President Bashar al-Assad, the statement added.
Now, in the new period, especially about the presence of Russian military bases there and other economic issues, Lavrov and Fidan discussed what to do with them, what could happen, and what should be done.
