The Syrian Civil Defense reported on its Facebook page that the death children were siblings and that another child was injured by the explosion, which occurred in the agricultural lands of the town of Ankhel.
Last Friday, one person was killed by a mine in the village of Jenin, in the province of Deraa.
From December 2024 to date, more than 430 people have been killed and injured by explosive devices in Syria, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The Office indicated that nearly one third of the victims are children, while farmers and herders are among the most affected groups.
It explained that since January 2025, more than 60 people have been killed and 90 have been injured injured, many while cultivating their land or herding animals.
Incidents with mines and unexploded ammunition continue to occur in several regions of Syria, amid calls for increased efforts to eliminate these remnants that threaten the lives of civilians.
