Khudoyorzoda said at a press briefing in Dushanbe this Monday that the ruling party won 12 out of 22 seats in the parliamentary elections.
An estimated 220 candidates, including 65 self-nominated candidates, competed for 63 seats in the lower house of Parliament.
Voting was conducted under a mixed system: 41 lawmakers were elected in single-mandate constituencies and 22 in all-republican constituencies.
The new Tajikistan parliament will serve a five-year term. Voter turnout was 85.3 percent.
Of more than 5.5 million citizens eligible to vote, more than 4.7 million did so.
