Relations between our countries are developing progressively. Last year, trade grew by 40 percent, which is a good figure, said the Russian president, when receiving Min Aung Hlaing in the Kremlin on Tuesday.
Putin also highlighted cooperation on the international stage. The Russian head of state thanked his interlocutor for organizing the work between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The president emphasized that this is not the first time that
Myanmar´s prime minister has visited Russia and that on this occasion he has a busy schedule, which includes traveling to three cities.
“I am sure that it will be useful and interesting,” he said. Putin recalled that 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the declaration on the foundations of friendship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Myanmar, for his part, noted Russia’s leadership in the field of military technologies.
The talks took place in the Kremlin. Before the start, the leaders exchanged handshakes and embraced each other.
On the Russian side, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Presidential Adviser Yuri Ushakov, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alijanov and Minister of Economic Development Maksim Reshetnikov took part in the meeting.
