President of Belarus accuses Ukrainian counterpart of inciting war

Minsk, Mar 5 (Prensa Latina) Instead of seeking peace, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky only aggravated the conflict in his country, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

“His most important promise was to end the war, but in fact he did everything to fan the flames of war,” Lukashenko said in an interview with US blogger Mario Nawfal, broadcast by the BelTA news agency.

According to the Belarusian president, Zelensky brought the Ukrainian conflict to an extraordinary level, as well as made several mistakes due to his inexperience, which could have been avoided if he had taken his time and listened to the advice of experts.

“I feel sorry for him. I treated him like my own son. We had a very good relationship with him. I was in Ukraine, we negotiated with Zelensky. But the fact that he played along extreme nationalist forces is bad,” Lukashenko regretted.

According to Lukashenko, Zelensky will lose the presidential election because his popularity rating is too low, between 14 and 17 percent.
