The parties dealt emphasized the implementation of the agreements reached, especially the strengthening of economic, trade and humanitarian ties, the statement said.

They also appreciated the need for closer coordination between the foreign policy bodies of the two countries in regional and international affairs, given that Myanmar assumed the role of coordinator of cooperation with Russia in the talks with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).

Fulfilling a request of the Myanmar leadership, Than Swe presented Lavrov with a national award of his country for the relevant contribution to the development of Myanmar-Russian relations.
