“We have received an invitation, but as far as I know, the parties have not yet begun to agree on specific dates. But the visit will definitely take place this year,” Ushakov said in response to a question.
Last October, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited Putin to visit India during his visit to the Russian city of Kazan, which hosted the 16th BRICS Summit.
The Russian leader accepted the invitation and highlighted the high level of bilateral relations, as well as the personal bond he has forged with Modi over the years.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow hopes to agree on the dates of the Russian president’s visit to India in the near future.
