Chinese press to participate in Cuba’s Patria Colloquium

Beijing, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) Chen Songqing, vice chairman of the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA), will lead a delegation from his country to attend the 4th "Patria" (Homeland) International Colloquium in Cuba, an official source confirmed on Friday.

The delegation also comprises executives from the Latin America Regional Office of Xinhua News Agency, the News Coordination Department of the Economic Daily, the International News Department of China Daily newspaper, and the Asia, Africa, and Latin America Affairs Department of ACJA.

Chen is a secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of Shanghai’s Jiefang Daily newspaper. Cuba’s Consul General to Shanghai City, Mileidy Aguirre, confirmed the executive’s participation after a bilateral meeting as part of the activities to commemorate the 65th anniversary of relations between the two countries.

Jiefang Daily, founded in 1949 as the CPC official newspaper in Shanghai, is an informative and political reference in the region.

Chen Songqing confirmed his participation in the 4th “Patria” International Colloquium, organized by the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), to be held from March 17 to 19.
