France to use interests from Russian assets to finance Ukraine

Paris, Mar 9 (Prensa Latina) French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu on Sunday announced the allocation of 195 million euros to military aid to Ukraine coming from interests of frozen Russian assets, a decision that will escalate tensions with Moscow.

According to statements by the minister to the La Tribune Dimanche weekly, with this money more 155-millimeter howitzers and AASM precision bombs can be sent to Kiev for the Mirage 2000 fighters supplied by France, fourth-generation aircraft used for the first time in the conflict in recent hours.

Lecornu pointed out that with the use of the interests of frozen Russian assets, whose seizure Moscow warned European countries would have consequences, the delivery of AMX-10 RC and VAB armored vehicles to the front will be accelerated.

France and the United Kingdom lead European actions against the rapprochement by US President Donald Trump with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, with whom he began a direct dialogue to seek the end of the war, without counting on Europe.

Paris and London demand security guarantees for Ukraine and ratify the anti-Russia crusade led by then President Joe Biden from the White House.
