The rapid rise in sales of the military and aerospace industries will mean joint revenues of 26 billion dollars in three years, indicated the annual report of SSB, cited by the Hurriyet Daily News.
Exports of these two items reached only 28 million dollars in 2022, the publication recalled.
In 2024, the Turkish aerospace industry reported a record export of 7.15 billion dollars, accounting for an increase of 29 percent year-on-year, while net income reached 15 billion last year.
Now Türkiye ranks 11th in the world among arms exporters, selling to 183 countries in 2024.
Institutions in favor of promoting peace and against militarization have expressed concern that the national war industry intends to grow from the current 100,000 workers to 150,000 by 2028, the newspaper highlights.
