Military sources indicated they have reinstated their security control in the urban area of the village, where they have coordinated the retrieval of abducted troops.
According to the statement, the self-styled Residual Organized Armed Group (GAOR) Carlos Patiño, had forced the population to blockade the Army’ access in La Hacienda quarters.
As part of such actions, the military recalled, locals set fire to an armored car and kidnapped 28 policemen and an army officer, who remained in captivity for almost 48 hours and were released last Saturday, following mediation from the Ombudsman’s Office, the Catholic Church and the UN.
Eventually, all troops returned to the locality with the support of the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police.
