Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning noted that it aims to safeguard the international nuclear non-proliferation mechanism and promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
“We hope this initiative will create conditions for resuming talks and negotiations soon,” the spokesperson affirmed.
She underscored that in the current situation, the sides should maintain calm and restraint to avoid escalation of the conflict or even clashes.
Mao added, “China sincerely hopes that the parts involved will move in the same direction, enhancing mutual trust and dispelling doubts, to turn the momentum toward dialogue into a tangible reality as soon as possible.”
Scheduled in this capital for Friday, March 14, the meeting will bring together deputy foreign ministers of the three countries who will discuss the Iranian nuclear program and other issues of common interest, according to the official statement.
