Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is taking advantage of the international context and the arrival in the White House of President Donald Trump to advance its agenda on the ground and implement its plans, Fakhri Abu Diab, a researcher on Jerusalem affairs, denounced.

In an interview with Safa news agency, Abu Diab explained that Netanyahu cannot reject any expansionist initiative because he needs the votes of the extreme right to remain in office due to the narrow margin he has in Parliament.

He pointed out that in recent years, the authorities of that country tried to displace the Jerusalemites from the city through demolitions, expulsions and the revocation of their identity documents, but in view of the failure of that policy, they are now seeking to change their strategy.

According to Abu Diab, Israel is trying to reduce the percentage of Palestinians in the city by expelling 150,000 citizens, who will be replaced by an equal number of Jews.

The vision of the extreme right wing in that country considers that the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem represents a threat to the Jewish State, he denounced.

Ramala, 13 mar (Prensa Latina) Un experto palestino advirtió hoy sobre el grave peligro que representa un nuevo proyecto israelí para aislar la zona oriental de Jerusalén mediante la anexión de numerosas colonias judías construidas a su alrededor.

El gobierno de Benjamin Netanyahu se aprovecha del contexto internacional y de la llegada a la Casa Blanca del presidente Donald Trump para avanzar en su agenda sobre el terreno e implementar sus planes, denunció Fakhri Abu Diab, investigador de asuntos de Jerusalén.

En una entrevista con la agencia de noticias Safa, Abu Diab explicó que Netanyahu no puede rechazar ninguna iniciativa expansionista porque necesita los votos de la extrema derecha para continuar en el cargo debido al estrecho margen que tiene en el Parlamento.

Destacó que en los últimos años, las autoridades de ese país intentaron desplazar a los jerosolimitanos de la urbe mediante demoliciones, expulsiones y la revocación de sus documentos de identidad, pero ante el fracaso de esa política ahora buscan cambiar su estrategia.

Según Abu Diab, Israel intenta reducir el porcentaje de palestinos en la ciudad mediante la expulsión de 150 mil ciudadanos, quienes serán reemplazados por una cifra igual de judíos.

La visión de la extrema derecha de ese país considera que la presencia palestina en Jerusalén representa una amenaza para el Estado judío, denunció.
