The Cuban embassy’s tourism counselor in this capital told Prensa Latina that this is an initiative of the San Cristobal travel agency, created in 1996 by the then historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal (1942-2020), an entity that extended its services to all the country’s heritage cities.
According to Suarez, this week the president of San Cristobal, Antonio Guerrero, made a presentation here to Chinese travel agencies and tour guides who work with the community of this nation in France.
The Chinese diaspora in France is the largest in Europe, with a population of over 700,000 people, making it an important potential market for the Antillean nation.
The meeting in Paris allowed clients to know a new product from San Cristobal that could be of great interest, called “Habano Único,” which offers the opportunity to delve into the world of the famous Cuban tobacco, explained the tourism counselor.
Likewise -she added- it was a favorable scenario to launch among those present the call for the first edition of the international event of specialized tourism “Leales al Patrimonio (Loyal to Heritage),” scheduled for November 11 to 16 in Havana.
Along with Guerrero, the president of the European Federation of Chinese Guide Organizations, Long Xuewu, participated in the event, who recognized the attractiveness of the Caribbean island and the travel options it represents for residents of the old continent, said Suarez.
The specialist recalled the links between Cuba and China, which will be the guest of honor at the International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2025, to be held from April 30 to May 3 in Havana.
