Housing Minister Melissa Poponne celebrated that the Scotts Head and Eggleston housing projects are nearing completion, and the keys to the houses will soon be handed over to its future dwellers.
In the case of the Scotts Head project, it is almost concluded, and only the finishing touches are pending, that is to say, it is 99% complete, she said, adding that 21 families will soon be able to move in.
The Eggleston housing project is almost 95% complete, and 16 homes are ready to be handed over to their respective residents.
“Stay tuned as we continue to deliver safe and modern homes for families across Dominica,” Poponne expressed, as quoted by the Associates Times website.
She recalled that the government is also working on a set of housing projects called Vielle Case, Woodford Hill, among others.
These houses are designed to withstand hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes and all kinds of natural disasters.
The source pointed out that Dominica has actively participated in the improvement of the island’s infrastructure and is working to become the first climate-resilient nation.
