With the aim of exploring export opportunities for products from the region, the department’s governor, Rafael Martínez, and the island’s ambassador to the country, Javier Caamaño, met with representatives of the productive sector to present the potencial the Cuban market offers.
According to a press release issued by the Governor’s Office of Magdalena, some of the items of interest include livestock, poultry products, oil, bananas and coffee, among others.
As part of his speech at the meeting, Martinez said that in this area, spaces are being promoted to learn about the opportunities that different countries can offer and that represent a potential purchase for local products.
Caamaño, for his part, assured that the region has all the characteristics to do business with the island, which has a market with great opportunities in terms of foreign trade.
He stressed the importance of Colombian businessmen being aware of the potential offered by the largest market in the West Indies.
The authorities of the Department of Magdalena are reportedly seeking to generate investment opportunities, marketing and exports as one of the bets of the territorial government to boost the economy, fill gaps and generate employment in the region.
