Trinidad and Tobago to hold general elections on April 28th

Port of Spain, Mar 19 (Prensa Latina) Trinidad and Tobago begins preparations today to hold general elections, which are scheduled to be held on April 28 this year.

Prime Minister Stuart Young instructed the President of the Caribbean nation, Christine Kangaloo to dissolve Parliament in accordance with Section 68 of the Constitution.

Young told the Head of State that in accordance with Section 33 of the Representation of the People Act, Chapter 2:01, the Electoral Mandates for the 2025 General Elections were to be issued on March 18, 2025.

On April 4 -the Stabroek News website points out- will be marked as Nomination Day and elections will be held on the 28th.
