The agreement between the Zimbabwean news agency Nueva Ziana and its Cuban counterpart, Prensa Latina, facilitates the exchange of mutual content and enhances bilateral relations, Marupi stated in exclusive remarks to Prensa Latina.

The official is participating alongside Deputy Minister of Information Technology, Communications, and Postal Services, Dingumuzi Phuti, and other Zimbabwean representatives in the Ministerial Forum and the IV Patria International Colloquium, which has been in session in Havana since Monday and concludes today, Wednesday.

Marupi emphasized that “the promotion of the bilateral agreement between our news agencies allows this reality to be reflected and shared in the media of both countries.” He also stated that the Zimbabwean delegation is attending the Colloquium to acquire and share knowledge to forge new joint paths in the development of the telecommunications industry.

According to the Zimbabwean authority, it is necessary to adapt to new technologies for online commerce, which requires the adoption of cybersecurity tools so that countries can better manage their information.

“Despite cyberbullying and other media phenomena, it is impossible to live in isolation. On the contrary, we must embrace Artificial Intelligence, develop software, and develop new technological developments tailored to our interests,” he said.
