The Ecuadorian Chapter of the Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity issued a manifesto with “10 reasons to vote for Luisa,” in which the group highlight her human, ethical, and technical approach, with which she seeks to revive the economy, recover public services, and guarantee the Ecuadorian people’s dignity.
According to the document, the Gonzalez candidacy places “life, care, and human dignity at the center of her proposal”, with policies directed to the economic, ecological, social, and cultural justice.
Among her leading commitments, the Network stresses the foreign debt’s audit, recover the national power grid, employment reactivation highlighting popular economies, guarantee quality public education and health, and fight violence, with an institutional and preventive approach.
The text also highlight the call to declare culture in a state of emergency, promote gender equity, and move towards an inclusive model that acknowledges indigenous, Afro-descendants, and Montubio peoples as fundamental actors in the construction of the country.
This Wednesday, Gonzalez and incumbent President Daniel Noboa are holding campaign closings in the country’s different cities, although the political campaign will conclude on Thursday at 23:59 hours (local time).
