The release stated that Novak met with Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan, and Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov to address providing Russian gas to the north and northeast of the neighboring state.

The parties also discussed cooperation through OPEC+, and interaction in the energy sector, including electric power, hydropower, and renewable energy sources.

The meeting also touched on Russian companies’ participation in oil projects in Kazakhstan and the possibility of cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the financial and banking sector.
