In a message on the occasion of April 14, National Youth Day, Falcão gave as examples of such policy the implementation of the Youth Development Plan and PLANADESPORTO, programs that have young people as protagonists.
It is young people, he emphasized in the text, who build schools, promote cultural centers, innovate in startups, lead communities and make sports an engine of national unity.
In this generation, he added, that builds bridges with courage and sows seeds for the future, “we find a renewed hope for a fairer, more inclusive and better prepared country”.
That is why “today Angola stops to honor them, because April 14 is not just a date on the calendar. It is a national proclamation that the youth is the beating heart of the Nation”, he stressed.
The National Youth Day was instituted in Angola as a tribute to Hoji-Ya-Henda, pseudonym of José Mendes de Carvalho, guerrilla commander in the struggle for the Independence of Angola, killed in combat on April 14, 1968, at the age of 27.
