Signed at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission by Ambassador Tanieris Dieguez and Baseball Australia Chief Executive Glenn Williams, the agreement is an important step in strengthening sports ties between the two countries, particularly in this discipline.
Among other actions, the accord includes holding sporting competitions, cooperation between both countries’ national teams, joint training, participation in events, and other issues of interest, such as baseball collaboration with a view to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
During the ceremony, both parties ratified their willingness to implement effectively the agreement to develop baseball in both countries.
Cuba has a long tradition and earned prestige in different competitions in this sport, while Australia has been recently growing and gaining a more relevant place in this sport.
