Xi held talks with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, participated in a friendly meeting with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and Vietnamese Communist Party (VCP) General Secretary To Lam, and paid tribute to Vietnamese independence hero Ho Chi Minh.
At the meeting with the Vietnamese President, the Chinese top leader affirmed that the framework of bilateral relations, based on traditional friendship and brotherhood, has become a joint effort to build a Community of Shared Future of great strategic importance, creating a model of friendship, mutual assistance and solidarity.
He expressed gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome received from the Party, State and people of Vietnam and congratulated the nation on the 95th anniversary of the founding of the VCP and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the National Day.
Cuong, for his part, reaffirmed that strengthening friendly and cooperative relations with China is a strategic priority for Vietnam and is considered a fundamental requirement of its foreign policy.
