The two nations met in Beijing to discuss those issues and also agreed to continue deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the sector, diplomatic source stated, quoted by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
The dialogue was co-chaired by Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, and Hong Liang, Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Both sides positively assessed the progress of their cooperation since the 4th round of the dialogue.
They held in-depth talks on several aspects of the maritime region such as security, economy, science, technology, and environment, reaching a broad consensus on diverse issues, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry noted.
The Pakistani and Chinese delegations also reiterated their commitment to build jointly a maritime community of shared future.
