Palestinian leader criticizes global silence over Israeli crimes

Ramallah, April 16 (Prensa Latina) – Former Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh today condemned the international community's silence regarding the Israeli military offensive against the Gaza Strip, calling it an atrocious crime.

Speaking to Palestine TV, Shtayyeh, who is also a member of the Central Committee of the ruling Fatah movement, accused the neighboring country of violating “all international conventions and prohibitions.”

The former prime minister warned that Gaza is being divided, the city of Rafah is being completely razed, and all Palestinians are being pushed to specific areas to be displaced.

He noted that almost all hospitals in the coastal enclave are out of service due to systematic bombing and the Israeli blockade, which prevents the entry of vital supplies. He also denounced the killings of civilians, including children, mass displacement of citizens, and women’s rape.

Shtayyeh stressed that the international silence in the face of these crimes amounts to complicity in the aggression.
