Demonstrators demanded the previous day that the government and the Presidential Transitional Council improve security levels targeting the wave of terror caused by gangs, which already control more than 85 percent of Port-au-Prince.
The population displeased with the government’s management took to the streets of Canapé-Vert, Lalue, Bois-Verna, Bourdon, as well as in the municipalities of Delmas and Pétion-Ville. In support of this mobilization, the protagonists of the movement blocked several roads leading to the aforementioned areas, where one could see burning tires, barricades, as well as hear detonations and gunshots.
As a result of the protests, school and commercial activities were also partially paralyzed in communes and areas not yet in the hands of armed bandits.
The demonstrators – emphasized the daily Le Facteur Haiti – demanded the resignation of the Presidential Transitional Council, of the Prime Minister, Alix Didier, of the Superior Council of the Haitian National Police and of its director general, Rameau Normil.
